Because it's more boring than Wuthering Heights, which is less realistic and a lot cooler.

And yes, do your own homework.

Extremely boring novel. There's a lot to say in it, if you read between the lines.

As has already been said, "Wuthering Heights" is much better (then again, Wuthering Heights just plain rocks anyway). "Tess of the D'Urberville's" is also a great novel, some amazing imagery and the symbolism is pure genius at times.

Christ on a bonfire, no it's not. That book was torturous. Other adjectives too, like arduous.

I didn't find it realistic because her last name is confusingly spelled.

This is probably a better reason that most of the essays will have in them.

You're kidding right? The fight between nature and civilization and between a fulfilling life and societal rank are depicted quite nicely. :)
