Is that powerful enough to cut plastic & metal on computer cases and such?

My husband is a Dremel fiend. I'll send him this thread. He's used his for computer cases and arcylic plastic before.

Thanks. My dad has one but it's an older, bigger unit. This new Stylus one looks really neat - lightweight & easier to hold. But I don't want to buy it if it's too wimpy for case mod projects.

Hmm...it has a good enough RPM, but I doubt it has the torque to handle modding. Just a tip, never go with cordless dremel for hefty jobs. Always get corded.

I never really found too many things that they are useful for. There is almost always a better tool that i already have. I finally used it to cut my stainless steel backsplash. I've had it like 4 years and finally really used it just this past month

Dremels are good stuff, I'm often glad to have mine around. I'd go corded, though.

Rotozip/Bosch and Porter Cable make much beefier models than the Dremel line. Dremels are great for working on very small stuff, but if you ever want to put a 3" cut off wheel on it you'll be SOL.

You *can* cut metal with a dremel, but it's a PITA compared to a real tool.

Well just for cutting case panels and stuff.
