Anyone ever tried those Elixir strings?

Just wondering, cause I bought myself a set. They're about twice the price of normal strings, but are supposed to last 3-5x longer. I'm about to put them on right now :)

yeah i use them exclusively.. they last pretty long and they have a smooth feel, easier to play cause of the thin layer/coating on them IMO..

but yeah, the downside is the price.

Damn!!! I just finished putting them on. Damn buggers poked me to the point of bleeding twice (once on each thumb)...

Okay done. I like the feel of these strings for sure. They don't "catch" your skin as you slide. They have a much warmer tone than my previous strings too.

The elixers are nice, but didn't win me over. On my 335, I thought they sounded a little muted and dead... didn't ring like a new pair of Blue Steels. I'm kinda stuck on Ernie Balls and Dean Markleys

I had some Ernie Balls, but I liked D'addario better. A bit better tone on my LP I guess.

The elixirs don't have the same tone that the D'Addario's do, but they have a fuller warmer sound IMO.
