Anyone ever tried overcoming procrastination?

It's 3AM Sunday, I'm still up wasting time and later today when I wake up I need to do two projects, one project for math involving a paper and powerpoint presentation as well as a speech for speech class. Oh, did I mention I have to learn an entire chapter of math as well? Let's not forget comp. sci. homework either...

Yeah, tomorrow's the last day of Spring break and I have school on monday so I'm just ranting but in general I'm sick of my procrastination. Had I been better, I'd have done a section of math a day, part of each project everyday, and my comp sci assignment one day as well.

I dunno... maybe I need to get a better sleeping habit and get 8 hours of sleep every night, that might help because most nights I only get 5 to 6 hours of sleep... any tips?

I'm in the same boat as you are. I have to finish 9 assignments tomorrow, including two essays. I said all week that I would do it on time, but guess what day of the week it is now...

I tried, but didn't feel like doing it at the time. I told myself I'd do it later, but I still don't feel like it. Maybe some other time I will overcome procrastination. For now, I"ll just have a nap.

Word man. I am kinda scared of college.

But I'm going to a film school so I'll probably have a lot of fun :)

The last day of my spring break is on Tuesday. I began my homework today because I procrastinated all week. The only reason I began today was because I have 9 hours of fvcking AP Bio homework to do. I did 90% of my calc, and 90% of my physics work. w00t for all AP classes.

I have 3 final exams and 3 papers due... all on the 21st. Normally I'd put it off til the night before, but I know that if I did, I'd be in a battle I couldn't win.

Procratination : 924
Common Sense: 1

:)

if you think you procrastinate a lot in high school just wait till college. Here are a few things I noticed about the change from high school to college

high school:

teachers get on your ass about not doing your homework
parents constantly bug me about doing my homework
there is more written homework that gets handed in on a daily basis (therefore if you miss a few it isn't really the end of the world)

college:

professor doesn't give a flying F%@K if you come to class, study, do the labs, etc. etc.
parents are no longer around, thus NO ONE is telling you to do your homework
LOTS and LOTS of distractions such as: women, no curfew, alcohol, ability to do whatever you want whenever you want because NO ONE is going to stop you
in my experience with my engineering degree there are very few things that actually count for your grade. Midterm 35%, Final %55, homeworks 10% screw up on either the midterm of final and to put it bluntly "ITS OVER"

college basically provides an oportunity to procrastinate 10X more than it was possible in high school and with about 10X more the consequences. I know, I came very close to getting kicked out due to my own stupidity. That experience is something I never want to go through again and actually kinda woke me up to the reality being that I couldn't go out drinking tuesday, thursday, friday, saturday, sunday and expect to carry and engineering course load. I would rather sit at home studying and go to bed early then to pull my hair out during finals week wondering if I'm going to barely pass my classes.

I procrastinated WAY more in college. It was much easier. You didn't have to answer to anybody but yourself, and your parents at the end of the semester.
