Anyone ever seen this cool feature on your ASUS mobo?

I haven't seen it documented, but it works on both a P3B-F and CUSL2. If you hold down the <esc> key during boot up, a little boot loader screen pops up. You can pick on the fly, any device to boot from. This would be floppy, any HD, CDrom, SCSI device. Real handy if you have a dual boot on two drives, or for that once in awhile occasion that you need to boot from a floppy or CD. Nice feature.

Do all models have this feature? If yours does, post it. How about non-ASUS? If so, post it also.

Thanks for the post, my son did this with my p3b-f and couldn't tell me which key did it. It is a neat feature, I couldn't find it in the manual anywhere.

I didn't see it in the manual either. Did it by accident one day. Strange that they dont document such a nice feature.

Works on Asus P3V4X, only after you do the BIOS update though. Hmmm. Interesting.

This feature is present on all boards that use the AWARD/Phoenix BIOS version 6.00.

This means that all boards after and including the P3B-F have this feature, so long as you have the latest BIOS update.

Older boards such as the P2B family, using the AWARD 4.51PG BIOS, does not have this feature.

Cool feature, Very useful since I have 3 CD-Roms so if I need to boot from one I can just pick.

Glad to share it with everybody. It can be a pretty handy feature.

AndyHui, thanks for the clarification. So any mobo using Award 6 bios can do this including brands other than ASUS?
