It's really 98.1

IQ scores are normally distributed with a mean of 100 and a standard deviation of 15. [Graph] Statistically, the latter is more likely.

But, everything on the internet is true. So the former must be true.

If the poster really has an IQ of 186, he would almost be a savant and must have got some media coverage. He can easily post said media coverage as proof.

Don't confuse savant with gifted. IQ has little to do with being a savant. IQ is general intellect...computational speed, interaction of various cognitive functions, etc. It isn't knowledge and it isn't savantism. Being a savant means you are beyond classification in a specific area (or more rarely multiple areas). It defies our understanding of IQ completely. Savants will often test average (or quite often a few sd's below average - aka 'idiot savant') on IQ tests. The can just operate in their field in an entirely different way than other people.

Membership in Mensa is open to persons who have attained a score within the upper two percent of the general population on an approved intelligence test that has been properly administered and supervised. There is no other qualification or disqualification for membership eligibility.

Mensans range in age from 4 to 94, but most are between 20 and 60. In education they range from preschoolers to high school dropouts to people with multiple doctorates. There are Mensans on welfare and Mensans who are millionaires. As far as occupations, the range is staggering. Mensa has professors and truck drivers, scientists and firefighters, computer programmers and farmers, artists, military people, musicians, laborers, police officers, glassblowers--the diverse list goes on and on. There are famous Mensans and prize-winning Mensans, but there are many whose names you wouldn't know.

So,

Any Mensans in here?????????????????

Yes, I took the tests when I was about 20 years old. Some 19 years ago

just did the mensa workout:

Your score was 29 out of 30. That is an excellent score, you would have a very strong chance of passing the Mensa test and joining Mensa.

i missed the question where i had to count the 7s from 1-100. i counted 11.

That test is extremely easy compared to the 2 tests they administer. Just FYI.
