Anyone ever have to go through an RMA with Logitech before?

I've used logitech devices for along time and actually had one kind of break on me. Single clicking resulted in a double click half the time and after researching it was a fairly common problem.

I get them agree to an RMA, no receipt, but the mouse has a 5 year warranty and it was first released for sale 3 years ago. They give me the address and RMA number and tell me to use a tracking number. They ask for my address as well.

I figure I would wait until I got the replacement so I wouldn't have to do without a mouse. 2 and 1/2 weeks go by and give up and send it in and pick up an el cheapy mouse to get me through. They acknowledge receiving it a few days later and said that they were releasing the replacement mouse for shipping and I would get an email when it ships. 9 days later I still don't have a mouse or tracking information and give them a call. They say that it takes 7-10 business days to ship anything and to wait a few more days...

Has it always been this way or are they just crapping on me?

While I was waiting RMA'd a brand new hard drive to Newegg, they received it and shipped out the replacement on the same day and I had it 2 days later.

shit takes forever sometimes...

I never had to send my mouse in though, they just sent me a new one , in retail box !

BTW : newegg RMA is better then ANY manufacturers RMA out there.

RMA'ing to a manufacture are always a pain in my experiences. Dealing with retailers have always been easier.

once, about 3 years ago. the mouse on my lx700 combo died. they didn't want anything back, though it took about 3 weeks to get a replacement, new retail box of both kb and mouse.

Odd.

When I had an issue with a Microsoft mouse, they just asked me for the ID# on the bottom and sent me a new mouse. I didn't even have to send mine in.

I had to RMA my mouse with logitech. They sent me a new mouse with a shipping label to send back my old one.

Quick and painless.

I've had a newegg RMA take over 3 weeks before.

OT, I know, but I'm still mad about it.

I had an issue with my Logitech mouse as well and after talking to customer support, they just sent me a brand new one. Didn't ask for the old one back at all.

Logitech is on of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. Here in NZ returns are almost always done directly through the retailer, not the manufacturer. My brother bought me an MX Revolution mouse for Christmas. The mouse had only been on the market for ~6 months and had a 2 year warranty. When the rubber on the mouse wheel swelled and caused the flywheel to stop working properly (extremely common problem) I called Logitech. They told me they flat out would not swap the mouse with a new one or refund me and I had to go to the point of sale for a return. Problem is my brother and I live on separate islands, and the point of sale is 1000km from me. Why couldn't they just do a return for me? They were a real pain and extremely rude on the phone.

Still, I absolutely love Logitech products and this is the only problem I've ever had with them. I ended up fixing it myself and I'll continue to use Logitech gear. And in their defense in this situation it is quite normal for warranties to work through retailers here.

i have a harmony remote that resets itself periodically, which gets annoying when i am watching something because if it had reset it will think all my devices were off to start with. i may call them up to see if they deal with these costly remotes differently.

my mx1000 (battery dies in a day) went bad and they got me a brand new revolution MX without hassle. i get to keep the mx1000 as well for backup purposes.

RMAing my mouse with Logitech was pretty painless... and they didn't even want the old one back. It's sitting a box on my desk.... the rubber on the wheel came loose and I couldn't turn the mouse. I received my mouse in less than 2 weeks.

Logitech has the best customer service of any company out there. It's almost to the point of ridiculousness. Every time I've had a problem with a piece of equipment, they send me a brand new replacement, and not once have they asked for the old one back. They respond to emails quickly, and I always received replacements within a week. They are a great company and make some damn good products.

Yup I love logitech's RMA too. Had a few instances where I had a trouble with one of my devices, they sent a replacement right away no questions asked without requiring me to send the old one back in.
There was one instance where they were out of stock on a mouse and it took extra long, but they upgraded me from the MX700 to MX1000, which was a huge upgrade :).
MX1000 is just so much better.

For both my MX900 and G7, received warranty replacements in less than a week. Unsure why the OP and a few others in this topic had to wait so long.

When I RMA'd my G5 laser mouse they sent me back the newer version, no charge or anything. I thought that was really nice of them. Also, they were pretty quick. Hope it turns out well for you.

I am in the middle of RMAing a mouse with logitech right now also. They're shipping it DHL ground and provided a tracking number, but it is taking FOREVER. they shipped it over a week ago and it seems to be crossing one state per day.

RMAed a mouse and got it within a week. The original was probably $20 or less so they didn't want anything back.

My favorite RMA is DFI. They sent me an email telling me my stuff was on the way by FedEx and said "Go Bears." Hooray for alums. No but seriously OCZ was the bomb. AIM conversations with their engineer and they let me pick it up on site in Sunnyvale, CA once.

MX Revolution? Wonderful mouse except that one flaw. I just cut the rubber ring off and it's working fine.
