i've had this dream re-occur at least 6 times in the past couple years.. each time it's been different in the details, but it's basically like this:

i'm in college, and the end of the semester is approaching.. suddenly, i remember that i had some class (english, for example) that i was registered for that i either forgot to go to for the whole semester, or went to it the first day and forgot to after that. i freak out, thinking that i've missed the class, and i can't believe how irresponsible i was.. sometimes i'll then attend the class, and realize i have no idea what's going on. a couple times i didn't realize i was taking the class until finals.. where i would panic because i would try taking the final for a class i never went to.

it's weird.. i never had dreams like this in high school.. just since i started college. as lame as it sounds, it's actually pretty scary and i'm very thankful when i wake up that it was just a dream..

HA! I can do better. I know people that just dont even show up for their class, then just walk in for their final.

I've had that one a lot, and I haven't been in college in 14 years. Another one I get all the time: I'm still in high school, but I have no idea what my schedule is or what the combination on my locker is. So I wander around the school trying to figure out what classes I'm supposed to be taking and in what order, but I don't have any of my books or anything because I can't get in my locker either.

I suppose it's just a fear of being unprepared for something.

That's pretty much what I plan on doing for CS 301 ("Introduction to Programming&quot😉 next semester 🙂 Except I've been programming for over 6 years, so it will be essentially a joke.. I was supposed to take that class as a Freshmen but it was always full, so I'm taking it as a second-semester sophomore instead. It's different though in a dream.. you can't really think clearly..

ChrichtonsGirl,

yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I'm a little suprised (and a little not suprised) that it seems common.. especially because the concept behind it is relatively obscure (kinda like the teeth falling out dream.. so obscure, yet so many people have it). I think it also has to do with the amount of responsibility and independence suddenly thrown at you when you go off to college.

it's stress related
you guys are too stressed 😛
You worry about missing something or forgetting something or not doing something ALL the time.
Even though most of these are unfounded, and you learn to ignore them in real life, they come back to haunt u at a subconscious level.... i.e. in your dreams..

Not exactly what you describe, but whenever i have exams, i always have dreams about sleeping thru one of themn 😱

I had the exact dream as the original poster while I was in college - a few times. Yes, it scares the h*ll out of you because you really believe you screwed up big time.

At least it is one of those dreams where you wake up and breathe a sigh of relief.

glad to hear i'm not alone.. and yeah, it's a lot more frightening than it sounds..

I use to have that dream frequently while still in college, but I haven't had one like it in a long time. Now I dream that I forget to go to a scheduled interview.

Another variation:
I dreamt that I forgot to go to my MCAT test.

My dreams are probably not stress-related but have to do with the fact that I do forget things (e.g. going to class, assignments, paying bills, etc.).

I HAVE HAD THAT EXACT DREAM MANY TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So have others that I know! Even being out of college for 11 yrs I still have it once in awhile. I think it is pretty common.

I have had several dreams exactly like that!!! Wierd stuff, man...

[edit]And I've been out of HS for almost six years...[/edit]

This is really wierd....

I have the same dream every once in a while and I've been out of college for 5 years.

You guys ever have that dream where you get in a fight and you punch all crappy and cant hit the person hard and its all in slow mo?

Yes, but I know I'm dreaming b/c all I see is black & white. It's such a tip off. So instead of worrying about class I just goof off.

OMG! I have that dream! I think it's because I'm basically a non-violent person and there's something in me that prevents me from seriously hurting someone.

You guys ever have the dream where you have to pee really bad and you are searching for a bathroom. You keep searching and searching until the only one you find has a urinal/toilet that is overflowing with wet floors and it turns out you are in barefeet or wearing only socks?

Or you are peeing into the toilet but the pee keeps coming and coming until the toilet is dangerously about to overflow?
