Anyone EVER have thermal grease dry out on em?

Wondering whether to go the thermal pad or the thermal grease route.

I have never smeared thermal grease on my body so I don't know. 😉

It came dry out and become brittle although I've never had any hardware long enough to see that happen. As long as you have something good like AS5 you should be fine.

Soemtimes you gotta add more KY or Astroglide to get it right

not really, i mean when removing a hsf from a proc sometimes it like crackles if u mean dry out like that, but it cleans up well with some rubbing alcy

And yes, I've run across thermal grease that would be considered "dry", but it's usually the cheapo Radio Shack kind... I haven't used that stuff in ages.
