Anyone ever have problems with Truecrypt?

I am trying to come up with a solution to securely back up some of my important files in case anything even happened to my house or computers. I currently have a RAID 5 file server, but I am thinking about some sort of offsite backup. The files would either be posted to the internet somewhere or put on a DVD and left somewhere. Either way they will be encrypted, probably with TrueCrypt.

To go about doing this I could either directly save to a TrueCrypt volume or save to a folder and have that copied to a volume. I like the idea of saving directly to a TrueCrypt volume, but I am concerned about the file somehow being corrupted and losing my data.

Any comments?

I have a couple of TrueCrypt volumes, never had any problems with them. (The one I use most is only about ~5MB, though I have a 5GB one for work stuff also, no problems so far).
My earliest one is from August 05 and it's fine.
