Long story short some people develop allergies to the nickel in white gold(especially after a pregnancy), and one solution is to have the ring coated/plated in rhodium, which is supposed to be hypoallergenic. Anyone ever do this? Did it A) fix the allergy problem(skin rash where ring is) and B)look any different than the ring did in the first place? Is it "noticeable"?

Any experiences with this?

Thanks

I thought they did this on pretty much all white gold rings by default? They did it to my wifes engagement ring and wedding band.

I thought so too. When we got white gold bands they said to come back every so often for a rhodium redo.

i always thought white gold was by default rhodium plated. the place i got a ring from wanted to sell me a $250 plan for free monthly rhodium dip. it makes the ring look new because its shiny and polished looking again.

I have nothing to add about the allergies though.
