Anyone ever had to change the delivery location of a shipped item (By UPS)?

And I don't mean shipped by me. I mean shipped TO me.

I bought a gift for my Dad at Amazon for Christmas, but I neglected to check my address stored in their system. Well, the gift is going to my old address which is about 120 miles from where I currently live. My current address is also stored in the system. And the gift shipped today.

I already sent an email to Amazon explaining the situation, but should I also contact UPS? I would assume that the shipper is the only one that has the right to change the shipping location. I could only offer the UPS tracking number and old address for verification.

I would hate to have to drive down there to pick up the package. Can anyone offer any advice?
