Anyone ever get the urge to sell everything you own?

Sometimes I feel like i'd be so liberated if i could sell pretty much all of my possessions except for my camera, laptop, and a few articles of clothing. I just so rooted to where my junk is...

yes but not just other junk.

sometimes I feel like selling my laptop, camera, and PCs.

I just get tired of money/time sinks they become, and think it'd be great without em :p

We had a house fire when I was about 13 or so. Boy does that experience ever turn you into a packrat!! I mean, I was keeping EMPTY ENVELOPES!!! A few years ago I broke out of it though, with the help of my wife.

No, I never feel like that. :)

Then again, he who dies with the most toys... still dies.

I would think it turns you into less of a packrat becase you become less attached to your material posessions. I mean if anohter fire happens you just lose it all again

Not sell, that's too much trouble... but i throw away junk... and people are baffled at what i throw out, saying i could sell or give it away (sometimes the stuff are new and still sealed)

I've thought about it, but, just the concept, not actually doing it.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I have so much excess, and I would love to just be able to sell most of it.

I was gonna donate all my stuff to this cult once. Lucky for me, everyone drank the punch before I did though.

I guess. If it happened twice, perhaps you would just say 'screw it' and break down. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope that I never find out.

yes...and then move into a tiny studio and save all my money, persisting on the pigeons that would fly into my one window.

25 Degrees North by The Broadways

my friend gave everything he owns away
my friend says he's happier that way
he says did you ever notice the more you own,
the more worries you have?
i thought about my rent check and my bank account
and couldn't help but understand
he told me that he's going back to santa cruz to live on a boat
without a phone or a thing in his hands
and i'm staying in chicago to work and go to school
and fvck off with my sh!tty fvcking band
and he said: brendan you should try it, it makes you feel so good
brendan you should try it, it makes you feel so good
so i threw away a stereo and some clothes to show i understood
down on the gold coast the people look so happy
money gets you laid, i saw it on tv
a brand new car, vcr a satellite dish
and a 6 pack are just a few parts of this american dream
well my friend had a dream to be free
he made it come true by giving away his tv
yeah my friend had a dream to be free
he made it come true with a backpack and his feet
when i walk along the city streets no one smiles or talks to me
i've seen possessions that run people's lives
everything we own makes us afraid to be friends
sharing used to be natural it'll never be that way again
my friend relearned to be a human being
how to stop and talk to people on the streets
he gave everything he owns away
and lives his dream with a backpack and his feet.
