I was at the grocery store today, and over in the produce section they had something I'd never seen. They were next to the plums, and looked like plums but had some yellow/gold coloration in them. I looked at the tag and it said "Ruby Gold Plout." I'm like "what the hell is a plout?" I bought some to try them, and they are pretty damn good! They are about as soft as a dark plum, and taste like a tangy plum. I've never seen them for sale before, and I've got a hunch I won't again, but they are very good. Anyone tried one? What are they exactly?
