I've searched everywhere. Google, the DDS site, I can't find anything. I'll make my own if I have to but I don't want the judge to throw a bitch fit about it.
I've never heard of that being an option. Depending on your state, you might be able to do traffic school (for equal to or more than the cost of the ticket) to get rid of the points on your license.
Well the judge sentenced me to 20 hours community service and Defensive Driving School. It was kind of a bs ticket but I'm not gonna get into that here since no one on ATOT speeds when one of these threads gets started. But better comm serv. and Def. Driving school than a suspended license.
Community service for a speeding ticket? HFF were you going?
In most places, traffic school is a viable option, but community service is usually something to get you out of going to jail, not just keep a point off your record.
It was 24 over on I-85 in ATL. Speed limit is 55 apparently and I was going 79. I was maybe going 2 mph faster than the next fastest car around me. I had already been passed several times that morning. Major interstates should not have a 55 mph speed limit but thats a different battle.
Damn. Was it light traffic? If you don't stay up with the other traffic on I85 (and I75 north of atl), you'll get run down. That cop must have been desperate.
Haven't heard of the community service thing. I believe a reckless with 20+ mph is optional. Might try the public defenders office.
Most interstates within a beltway - like I285 in atl - are 55mph. It makes for easy pickin's.
yea it was the last day of the month so I think I got quota'd. Traffic was medium to heavy depending on your viewpoint. Since I'm under 21 (this rule is bullshit btw) the points would auto suspend my license. The judge dropped almost everyone that was over 21 speed down 10 mph which would put mine at just a fine and no points but since I'm under 21 she decided to be a biatch.
Ask the judge's clerk about the form - get a perfect understanding so you don't have to do it more than once. I suppose at this point you could just consider it bad luck and move on. Never can tell, the community service might be interesting.
