I'll wait until it's heavily discounted

Thanks for the update.

If I get Skyrim, it probably won't be until 2015 or so.

That being said, the odds of buying are low. I bought Daggerfall back in the day and that was a steaming pile; haven't bought an Elder Scrolls game since.

Well worth the $60 imo, I was severely skeptical after disliking a severely modded version of Oblivion.

I'll probably wait for either a good Steam sale or the GOTY edition which has become a Bethesda staple. Too many other games I'd want to play first before getting to this, even though it looks good.

I'm just waiting for a little bit of a sale. I have 5 2011 games that I've yet to play, so there is no hurry.

IGN rated it pretty high. If you do want to get it I'd say wait until first patch is out. There are some bugs in it. Nothing game stopping I hear though. According to IGN anyway. I'm curious if the Steam hacking will hurt their business any?

I thought about waiting for the complete packaged edition with all the DLCs, but since I'm such a big fan I can't wait.

I'll get the Game of the Year version that has all the DLC, and is discounted to maybe $20. I don't enjoy getting games like this at realease date, when they are constantly updated long after release. I want the complete experience, and am unlikely to come back later to get it if I finish it early.

I don't have an issue with this style of release, it just means that I won't get the game with it is released. If Bethesda finds they make more money this way, then more power to them.

Gonna be a while. Started playing The Witcher, which is going to take some time. Then I got a free code for Arkham City, and by the time I'm done with both of those, hopefully Skyrim will be next.

I'll wait until I upgrade my graphics card (which also entails upgrading the CPU/motherboard/memory/OS/OS hard drive).

Hopefully it wins Game of the Year so that it works out for you :p

I'm only waiting because I don't currently have a system that can play the game. I guess it will be nice to see mods already in existence by the time I get it, but my first play through is always vanilla so I know what needs to be modded out/in.

Waiting for thanksgiving or x'mas sale. Knocking $20 off will be a deal for me within this year.

I just bought Oblivion during the Steam Summer Sale ffs... planning on getting Skyrim when the GOTY edition is available for $9.99 or less on some future steam sale. :p

Bought it, love it. I can understand waiting/skipping if sandbox fantasy game is not your bag though.

There's no such thing as a "Game of the Year" award, for your information. GOTY is a term used by game publishers as an excuse to re-release their game at full price for a second run, but this time including all of the DLC and dubbing it the "Game of the Year Edition".

Don't kid yourself. There will definitely be a "Skyrim: Game of the Year Edition" released sometime down the road.

I dunno. Magic, Melee, and that kinda stuff has never really appealed to me. The game looks like it could have a decent story and a hell of a lot of gameplay though, so maybe. Started watching a Playthrough, that may tempt me to get it.
