Tropical storms and hurricanes are for wussies. Around here, if it ain't at least an F4 tornado, we don't even look twice. 😛

not many of those in bedford. however, i did encounter several tornadoes up there during the
first 23 years of my life. the thing that gets you with them is the lack of lead time.

Well, I'm from Biloxi, MS. In 1969 (before I was born), the town was decimated by Hurricane Camille. Everything there is super-hardened to heavy winds. That hurricane picked up a sunken ship from Mississippi Sound and deposited it on land. They made it a restaurant called Camille's. 🙂

No, we don't have weather here in Bedford. It's stormed maybe 6 times this year.

My dad was in Bay Saint Louis during Camile! less than 2 miles from the beach!

Yup, it was certainly bad. We had like two days of videos and speeches about it in Mississippi Studies class.
 
geeez, and all I can claim is that I sleep right through receiving 4 feet of snow overnight.
