No but I am a college student. Only have M-T and this year got lucky the 11th is a Friday. I get to go out and take advantage of about 10 different places with free stuff.

Spent many previous years working 12 hour shifts at a factory on Veterans day. When I was off, didnt feel like going out to eat or socialize.

I was planning on going out bow hunting this morning, but it's hard to get up the ambition to go out into a winter wonderland (snowing REALLY hard right now) to sit up in a tree. Beautiful outside; I'd just rather sit in the tree and take a nap, calling it hunting, rather than sit in a tree with flakes of snow pounding against the skin on my face, keeping me awake. Plus, no snow means you're not sneaking past me within 40 yards, Bambi. Snow = silence.

I am hoping that, with the govt offices and public schools closed (especially UCLA), my commute will not suck so much today.

Wish me luck.

ONLY those who have served should be given Veteran's Day as a holiday.

This country already has enough "stay home and get paid" days for the general workforce. Only Veterans should get the day off with pay.

(for me, NO holiday was ever a paid day unless I worked it...then it was at least double time)

Traffic was amazing - took me 40minutes to get to Oakland.

I'm a Vet, I'm working, and getting out of Oaktown early. Riots planned at 4pm today due to the shooting last night.

I'm working Veteran's Day, but that's because my office has a choice between taking Veteran's Day or one of the days around Christmas, and I'd rather have the time then.

yeah, i don't think that many get it for holiday
There were only about 10 people riding the bus to work today. I'm guessing most people have it off.

My coworkers parked on the street in front of expired meters because meter maids don't work on stat holidays
