Yes. And Saturday.

(Saturday is technically a half-day make-up day for Black Friday - work 4hrs of "volunteer" time this Saturday, and in return, get 8hrs vacation for use on Black Friday. However, I'm likely going to be there more than 8hrs tomorrow. The sales department keeps selling stuff, and my department has to help ensure that it's all built, configured, and tested correctly, among other things.)

Nope...but only because I don't work any day.

I've only had Veteran's Day off as a holiday a couple of times in my life. Some of the crafts had negotiated it off. Not my union. We worked.

Never gotten this day off, going to school so I suppose that counts.

Yep, we work all holidays. But the holiday pay for it is really nice so I don't complain.

nope, my normally scheduled days off every week are Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

I believe we work Vets Day in exchange for Black Friday being a company-wide holiday, but it makes no difference to me.

Supposed to be. We trade Veterans for the day after Thanksgiving. One of our guys was hauling a piece of equipment down the highway and didn't have it loaded right so he hit an overpass. The state shut us down until we get our shit together.

we get 6 personal days throughout the year for these purposes, but I never use them on semi-holidays like this since it's usually light days.

What really screws people is the kids are off from school so parents may have to take it anyway.
