Anyone else work 100+ hour weeks

I do, and I'm tired. Been at it since July of last year. I need a break but unfortunately, I don't see one coming soon.

I've put in one or two 100 hour weeks of honest to goodness actual work without any fluff.

But a full 9 months of them? I think after the first couple weeks I'd either be dead or have killed someone. Or maybe both.

I'm married, have a daughter. The good thing has been that I was working out of my house up until December of last year. Now I have a real office so I don't get to see my daughter as much. My UT2004 gaming has been really suffering.

I'm a little beat today though. Yesterday was a 7:30 am to 2:00 am, and then up at 6:30 am this morning and a little bit later, so I guess I'm feeling it more than usual today.

It depends on if you count playing computer games and sleeping as work. 😀

Honestly man, if you work too hard and have too much stress in your life.......you're only shortening your life. If you do work for yourself, try taking a nap every afternoon....it's been proven to reduce stress and blood pressure more than any drug on the market. 😉

that sounds like a horrible life....

No, but I've been working 60 hour weeks for most of the last 7 years.

It wears you out. I'm taking 5 days off and I'm promising myself that I'm going to get a normal life back.

Yeah, last October I just about collapsed from exhaustion. Luckily I was able to take a break from the usual grind setting up my office. The time really wasn't any different, but the change of activity made the difference. I'm starting to feel it again though. Haven't been to the beach in months other than for dinner a couple of times.

I don't WORK for the hundred hours, but I would say I come close if you add in ~55hrs/week doing work + time spent at school + studying/homework + school clubs.

Might not be exactly the same as you, but working 7 days a week to make ends meet sure sucks serious donkey balls! I could never imagine doing 100hr weeks while having a family. I don't know if you work at home, but I would feel like I was abandoning them or something.

Anyways, best of luck to you and may vacations and success come our way and to those who also put in long hours! 😀

i work no longer than 40 hours/week. if they want me to work more, they can pay me more. i always wonder why the hell some people stay late every day when we don't even get overtime here.

No, there's light at the end of the tunnel, and that's not too far away, maybe a year or so, so the sacrifice right now is worthwhile.

is it worth it?
Yeah, I think so. I'm making something that I think will be really fanstastic in a couple of years. The satisfaction of doing that will be worth the effort.

Respectfully, I just don't think anyone works 14.2 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week. If they do, their productivity is most likely poo.

Edit: If you're doing it, and it's paying off... More power to ya!
