Anyone else who LOVE the steakhouse chain Texas Roadhouse?

IIRC, they're the ones that serve steak with a heap of butter on top, right?

No thanks. The steak was decent, but nothing that I couldn't do at home. For the price it's not bad, but nothing that I'd rave about. Plus, butter has no business being on top of steak. D:

hmm never seen a heap of butter on any steak i had at the place...

From what I've seen, it's a crappy chain. Never had a good steak there.

This has been my experience and there is nothing healthy on the menu. I cringe when I have to go there with my wife's parents ( her dad is a meat and potatoes guy who loves cheap steakhouses).

FU guys I wank steak now. Going after work now.

16oz NY strip, steamed broccoli and carrots, and mashed potatoes ftw.

If you don't have a Texas Roadhouse, look for Logan's Roadhouse - they're the same place.

The only thing good about them is their price point - I find most of their food underwhelming and they always overcook my steaks.

This thread makes me want to buy a rib roast and spend a saturday afternoon making it :hmm:

I made one with my mom a few christmases ago and it was fucking awesome. Heh, I think one saturday soon I'll have some prime rib waiting for my girlfriend when she gets home from studying 🙂

I'm sure I suck a lot at grilling, but I've never had someone grill me a steak that tastes anything like a restaurants. I think it is in a large part due to shit meat from the grocery store, but maybe I'm wrong.

Logan's isn't bad. Texas Land & Cattle is decent. I've been to everything from Vic & Anthony to Morton's as well. At this point steak is getting kinda boring heh.

mmmmmmmmmm Porterhouse...

It is OK, but nothing great. It was started in southern Indiana in the 90s IIRC.

Oh and Capital Grille is worth every penny -- I love that place.

I love Texas Roadhouse. Their steak is great, but their rotiserie (sp?) chicken is crazy good. As well as the mashed potatoes (love the potatoe skins still in there) and the cheese fries are money!!

my god the food snobs here blow my fucking mind. it's a pretty damn good steak every time i go. i live 5 minutes from one, actually had a cowboy cut sirloin sunday night via take out.

i want a cold beer and steak, they seem to fit the bill pretty well.

I haven't had their prime rib, but I went a couple weeks ago and had a ribeye. The steak was decent , and it was cooked perfectly. I love their rolls and butter 😀

I think the food is just fine for only $20~30.

I want to go, but a gal I fired a few years ago works there. I'd probably end up with some special sauce. So I'll wait until she quits or another one opens up in my area.

For steak lovers, I noticed Stop and Shop has had some great deals on steaks past 2 weeks (at least in my area).

I got 3 pack of NY STrip and 1 TBone for $13 bucks!!!

Fed entire family + got some leftovers for next day.

This is the ONLY chain in USA that's worthy of its existence.

It's a steakhouse chain, vaguely similar to Outback. But Texas Roadhouse is a full-blown real steakhouse that specialize in meat, meat, and meat. And you get to choose your meat right at the counter next to the host:

Now, I've had my share of high-end steakhouses (Capital Grille, Morton's, all the fancy ones in NYC). So far they are not all that cracked up to be for the price.

Also, I can cook a mean steak myself. But Texas Roadhouse does something amazing that takes considerable effort at home- prime rib. It's fvcking absolutely delicious- especially with that au jus:

Texas Roadhouse is just a perfect price point and quality. I don't even look at the menu: 16 oz rare with chili, baked potato for fvcking $18.99 + an extra-tall mug of beer. Mmmmmm.

At similar budget, it's worlds above other chain steakhouses like Outback and Longhorn.

Interestingly enough, I don't see many people talk about it much.

The Best Steak I ever had was what in Kansas was called a Kansas City Strip Steak and at a place called The Black Angus in Leavenworth, Kansas.
The 2nd best steak I ever had was at a Texas Roadhouse.....good eatin!!

Yeah I got the Jumbo pack of chicken breasts for like $9 the other day. Went back and bought 2 more packs for the freezer after I realized they're normally $20 😀

They know how to torch cow in Kansas. FRESH and TASTY.

As for chains it's a toss up between Texas Roadhouse and Longhorn for best steak. Outback used to be OK but has gone downhill. The rest suck eggs.

I prefer my unicorns seasoned by 17 virgins(female only)

I could never get into a place called "Texas Roadhouse" that is based out of Louisville.

As an actual Texan, I have access to cheap high-end beef from local ranchers so I avoid any and all chain places and just cook my own.

Another one of the bi-weekly steak/steakhouse threads. I haven't been there, but I know some people who have been and they like the fried pickles.

I've been to Logan's and thought it was terrible. If Texas is anything like Logan's, I do not want. Local Logan's location went out of business and closed.

The chain with butter on top of the steak is Ruth's Chris. I don't care for their steaks either and thought it was very underwhelming for the price.
