Bought brand new manual this year.
Car it replaced (also a manual) is being used to teach the next generation of manual drivers.

Reality is that the kids I'm teaching will end up in electric cars but at least they will know how to drive "classic cars"

My manual transmissions are both diesels. The one on the right has the added second security stick in it.

The 2003 Beetle TDI is manual because the automatic transmission of that era is simply trash. If you want the bulletproof VE engine you get a manual.
How many $2500 auto rebuilds is your tolerance with the Cummins powered truck. If they were sold with Allison automatics i would feel differently, but the doge transmissions had a plethora of failure paths. 600 ft/lbs of torque @ 1600RPM tends to find them.

Put a custom five speed Tremec from American Powertrain in my 'Vette that replaced the whining rock crusher I'm still sentimental about and I haven't had so much fun in years. Not going to ever install an automatic in my hot rods. It's downright sacreligious.

While I'm at it, I ain't never going to build a front wheel drive four door hotrod. The hotrod bible considers it a sin.

I learned to drive in a '55 chevy equipped with three on the tree because that was my dad's fave to tool around in. Loved me them manual trannys ever since.

K, now that that's settled, my daily driver is a late model van that's gets me from A to B reliably, comfortably and oh so boring to drive. I had to majorly upgrade the sound system to give me some kind of enjoyment out of driving it.

My 2000 Jetta ALH 5-speed has 244,000+ miles on the clock. The engine has not been touched, other than scheduled maintenance items, mainly timing belts. Runs great.

I have three of them, including a 2021 model year which is the best of the three. Two pedal cars feel awkward to drive to me now, there’s always a phantom clutch there and it’s unsettling that they move on their own. Guess I’m stuck with three pedals.

I'm pretty neutral on this. I still have a manual car but it doesn't really matter to me when you replace it with a well programmed zf8 or dual clutch. I do feel it's more engaging in certain scenarios, primarily when you're out having fun with the car. For commutes it's really a wash or the other direction if you have stop and go. Then at the other end of the spectrum on the track I don't like it as much. I'd prefer not to accidentally money shift my car nor do I want to heel toe when there are so many other things you have to focus on as well. The largest factor for me personally is that the feel of driver engagement isn't that different than a good auto compared to hoping on the motorcycle instead of taking the car. I think it drastically diminishes the differences between the two transmission types when you have such extreme comparison.

I would also like to make a tiny rant that modern performance manuals aren't really manuals anymore. With auto rev matching and no lift shifting I'm not really sure if they count. Though most posts in this thread are in reference to cars that don't have those features.

Taught my son to drive manual and got his first car with a 6-speed shifter. He's pretty much the only one he knows that drives manual. No one will want to drive or steal his car.
