Anyone else watching less and less stuff on their HT?

With a tablet and a laptop now I find myself watching most of the stuff on them now rather than firing up the HT. The only time I really watch something on my HT is football or a good, new action movie is released. In the off season it could be weeks in between when my HT gets turned on.

My TV is always on (I don't consider a TV and a 2 channel system a HT), whether it be for sports, casually watching shows or watching movies. The only difference is, when I'm watching a movie, I close up my iPad. And that's a least once a week. If I had a full out HT (projector with at least a 5.1 surround system) I'd probably use it a least once a week.

I don't like using my laptop, and I've no interest in tablets generally. If I'm watching a movie, I'm in my dedicated theater room.

If I'm playing video games, it's either on my gaming PC, or my PC in my theater room.

I don't watch much TV, but, the little bit I do watch is generally in the living room with my little 40 inch TV and 2.0 channel Polk speakers.

Why would anybody watch videos on something else then a home theater unless they have too?

Definitely this. Big screen and surround sound FTW!

Also, we have only one (large) TV so the HT is always "on" when we're watching TV.

Nope, I use mine all the time. If I'm not going to really watch anything other than the news or sportscenter I may not turn the receiver on and just use the pass through with the TV speakers. I didn't spend the money on audio equipment and a big screen TV to watch it on my tablet.

The only time I wont use my big screen is if I want to watch something, or usually part of something, and go immediately to sleep. So I'll watch on my iPad.

I don't think I've been using it less because of other ways to take in the content, I think I'm using it less because the internet conditioned me to have an iPad on my lap surfing god knows what every time I'm watching something. I catch myself "settling" for the TV instead of going into the theater just so I can check my mail and catch up some other things.

Yes, but it's only because my movie watching has dropped from 1-3 a week to 1-3 A MONTH. Damn work, kids, life in general taking up precious movie time!
