Watching the scorebot on irc. SK (sweden) vs Rival (USA) triple OT omg so intense!!!

CPL ( http://www.thecpl.com ) hosts a tourny that is like the Superbowl of counter-strike 2x a year (along with many other popular games). But this is like the biggest gaming event next to the WCG (World Cyber Games).

update: SK wins in 3rd OT, they go on to face EYE in the finals tomorrow! (sry bout the mistake)

no one here has any idea what you're talking about.

btw, you're wrong. SK will play EYE tomorrow in the finals.

and you are misleading people. the winner doesn't receive 100k. the 100k is divided up amongst the top-placing teams.

No, watching someone else play a FPS is boring to me without TV's Wil Wheaton and his buddy Travis making smart@ss remarks on the gameplay.

Well all I said was 100,000$ tourny, never specified the amount every team gets.

Uhm, how do you watch?

HLTV, or irc bots that relay the kills/bomb plants.

How do you watch HLTV? I've got steam and I play CS occasionally, but I don't think I've heard of HLTV before...

HLTV has been out for a few versions now. It's basically a server that supports a spectator mode of 255 people and you can watch people play in another server. There's usually enough servers for a few thousand people to watch online, but they fill up really quickly. I'm tryin to find out the info for the final match right now.

they have just broken the world record for spectators. highest count was about 34,000 people. pro gaming is growing so fast...unbelieveable.

To watch on HLTV, you would do the same as if you were connecting to any server. Add server & double click in the server list or connect ip address in the console.

EYEballers.cs defeats SK.swe 13-5 on de_inferno. Led by IsKall's second half 13 frags (plus a defuse), EYE dominated the match. SK was able to elude several close calls throughout the event, most notably their triple overtime victory over Team Rival in the lower bracket finals, but EYE proved too much to handle today. Solid teamwork, quick rotations, and clutch performances told the tale for the new champions. A much more in-depth review of the match is on the way, so stay tuned!

The question now becomes "Can anyone defeat the 'Swedes'?

When SK loses they usually come back next year and take it! I was surprised at the upsets.

SK got dominated, even after the match retstarted and they won the pistol round. EYE and spiXel are the teams to beat now, in my opinion.

I'd rather watch Jonathan Wendel play UT2K4 and rape a single person vs. clan play of CS. Plus he gets way more sponsers and endorsements its not even funny!

too bad he doesn't play ut2k4 and has never played it competitively. btw, he LOST at the painkiller tournament at CPL. that kid is so overhyped it's unreal...and he did try cs but he was horrible at it so he went to CoD and was horrible at it...it's not like he hasn't tried team games.

Fatal1ty is great but that's because he "practices" 12-14 hours, as he's said. Anyway he specializes in 1on1 games because his arrogance is too much to be on any team.

He tried creating a counter-strike team iFate (inevitable fate) with some notable players such as mcdermott, and the gang but it just didn't work. His ego is too much.

Thank god SK lost, EYE deserved this one. =)
