I bought one of these locally and it won't boot with either my 366MHz or 400MHz Celeron on a Abit BH6 and Soyo SY-6BA+ IV. Its a generic one, but I've seen em all over the place.

Here is a picture:

I've already gone back to the place I bought it and he exchanged it for one that I saw running a PIII 667MHz FCPGA. I'm sure this one works, but it doesn't seem to with either of my cpus which are PPGA CPUs.

Does this card just work with FCPGA chips and not PPGA?

Thanks

There's probably a jumper that came defaulted to FC-PGA. Check your jumper blocks or your documentation, there's got to be something.

Judging from the label, it looks like a "Coppermine-only" Generic.

Any way to return it?

No, but I have a CII 566 on backorder from buy.com, so I should be able to use it.

Ack... bought the cheapest slot adapter available. I think the cost ~ $3.00. If you are serious about your computer and overclocking, get a decent slotket. Your machine's only as good as it's weakest component, and that is it. *I* use the Abit SlotketIII, YMMV..
