I recently started playing a little Aliens vs. Predator again, and was surprised at how old school but effective the graphics are in bringing immersive game play. After a recent CGonline article, where the developers basically said that Lithtech has some serious drawbacks they have to overcome, and some very brightly lit screenshots, I'm a little worried that the new game is going to be more of a Halflife wannabee clone, than AvP. Not only that, but what is up with the Alien's homeworld and the "ecosystem" on it? I thought the aliens would have trashed their homeworld long ago and be dormant in pods, but putting the aliens on a food chain, perhaps not even at the top, seems a little bit cheesy to me. Just an excuse to throw in big charging beasts a la Giants: Citizen K? Well, at least you can save.
