Anyone else tired of the 2' long receipts you get these days?

I usually just walk straight past them. If there is a line, my time is worth more than their stupid pink highlighter mark. No hassles or anything. If they ask "Can I check your bag?", I just say no and keep walking. Those goons can hold me when I steal something, but otherwise, I completed the transaction.

No, even if you steal something they cannot (legally) hold you.

No? Then what about all those stories of shoplifters getting tackled to the ground and get stepped on to hold them down?

If you get caught shop lifting then they can detain you. It's citizens arrest since a crime was committed. Though if they detain you and no crime was committed they're going to loose their asses in court.

I noticed that too...Best Buy is the worst. I bought a TV there and got 4 26" long receipts (I measured them ).

I don't think you have to comply. Just ignore them.

Fry's is actually pretty good about that. If you just walk past 'the final iniquity' they'll let you go. Don't try the same thing at Best Buy.

Yes I fvcking hate those ridiculous receipts, especially when I only bought one thing and all the rest is useless sh!t. I want a receipt that is narrow and short enough to fit in my two-fold wallet without crunching it up.
