Anyone else think this car is sex on wheels?

Corrado's - excellent looking car.

VW needs to bring back the sport coupe/hatch.

Love the looks of the Scirocco's as well. Love the classic 80's styling of these type of cars:

They do still make the Scirocco for us Europeans. They're a bit bland compared to the 80s designs though.

Now that's a Sexy car. We always get screwed in the states

I am not sure I can agree with that. While that car does look very cool for an Audi, it's probably ludicrously priced for what it is. There are also tons of "hot hatch" type cars that we often miss out on over here that actually are not that great in real world performance or even fuel economy, while still being fairly pricey. And most of those Europeans miss out on our budget fun like the Stang V6 🙂

I do think that we miss out on small diesels and such, though.

Ford doesn't offer the 300hp v6 in europe? Wow

Not sure, but even if they did, the ocean premium still applies. Anything automotive going in to or out of europe via the Atlantic massively increases in price in the process, making it much less attractive on the other side of the water.

Scirocco's and Corrado (VR6...not the crappy 4banger) were definitely on my "like it" list way back when.

They were not on my "WANT IT" list though.
During the years they were out they were a lot of great cars on the market.
Integra's, Eclipse\Talon turbo's, MX-6LS\Probe GT...even the Prelude was pretty sweet.
Sure there was Mustang 5.0 and Camaro but during that time they were "unobtainium" to people in my age group due to insurance costs.

If I had spare hobby money lying I wouldn't cringe at the thought of a Scirocco project car but I there are some other cars that I'd rather dump money into.

The more I look at Scirocco's, the more I like looking at em

lol, I am not getting the feedback I thought I was going to get.

I would not call it "sexy," per se, but it is definitely still intriguing in that nostalgic way, like lots of things from the 80s, or your first girlfriend. She might be homely by today's standards, but she was the first thing to touch your pecker, and if you were given the chance today, you would tear it up.

I've always had a soft spot for the Corrado, and if given a chance to own one for cheap, I probably would.

Not really a fan. Honestly I've not been a fan of VW's styling in general, older ones or newer ones. Older ones look like shoeboxes on wheels, newer ones look heavy set or blob-ish or something.

Corrados are nice, get a vr6 and throw a supercharger on it. 350+ hp, not sure if they still make the kits or not though.

Corrado? I was interested when I wanted a new car back in December 1990. I went to the dealer. Once I drove one I no longer had any interest.

Always loved those datt. Really wanted a corrado in high school too but they were too expensive back then for me. Have seen a few with rust issues here in rust belt

They were always quite expensive, even at 10 years old.

Original Audi Quattro (early eighties?) derived from their world rally championship They were really nice looking cars from that era.

Yes, extremely rare and expensive. The Scirocco was designed after that, they shared many of the same looks.

According to the Wiki for the Audi Quattro, Audi is considering a limited special edition based on that concept, limited as in 2-500 cars. So yea, expect $75k+ for it easy, if Audi decides to ever make it.

Yes it is sex on wheels. I always wanted a Corrado and still troll craig's list for them.

I had a 87 8V Scirocco and that was a great car. Sometimes the Corrado is called the third gen scirocco and the audi TT the fourth.

No. Sorry. It's just a car. A really old car. A really old car that lacks modern crash protection, modern reliability, modern efficiency, modern features, etc.

But it was pretty cool way back when (I was in my late teens when they came out), and if you like dealing with 20 year old cars, and you want one, more power to you. (Me--I have no interest in keeping up with an old car.)
