Anyone else think this car is sex on wheels?

I almost got one in high school, a G60, but the deal fell through. I still get excited when I see them on the road, which is very seldom.....very seldom.

Very rare, I was talking to a co-worker who got one at a great rate not long ago and fixed it and resold. He said generally demand for these is high because there are so few of them and people just seem to love them.

Corrado's - excellent looking car.

VW needs to bring back the sport coupe/hatch.

Love the looks of the Scirocco's as well. Love the classic 80's styling of these type of cars:

There are a few VW projects around here, seems like they are never-ending...

This car used to be local...

And then the government found out about it, so they got this...

Odd, for some reason I thought you would have liked them.

Oh I'm sure they're a blast to drive - I don't particularly care for the styling of the Mk1 MR2 either, but then I drove one for 3 years and it definitely grew on me. I imagine this would be the same. 🙂

Back in the day, yeah, but today, no. They've become quite dated looking. And they were really horrible in terms of performance, but everything was crap in those days I guess.

Always loved those datt. Really wanted a corrado in high school too but they were too expensive back then for me. Have seen a few with rust issues here in rust belt

what the hell did I just hear???

Probably the SC failing, to take a WAG at it. /facetiousness

I looked into getting a Corrado as a toy car before I got a Miata, and apparently the superchargers were a little tight on tolerances and would shed metal shavings into the engine, causing routine 'splodey engine death. The VR6 engine was more reliable (but not amazingly reliable) but fetched a silly premium.

Edit: they're not terribly pretty, but they are known as serious competition for a 944, which is impressive.

Was looking at them when I was still dreaming of getting a used coupé. It being a VW was a slight turn off, but it's probably the only cool VW ever made. Sadly a lot of the ones that were made have been mutilated quite badly.

Have a look at early late 80s / early 90s Maserati biturbos (222, 222E etc), if you like 80s lines and styling, together with a coupé look and "sufficient" performance.

Current sirocco is an abomination compared to the old designs...
