Anyone else think the default XP theme is much uglier than Classic theme?

I know it came out in 2001, but still. I'd use the Windows 2000 theme over the default XP theme any day.

While we're on the topic of desktop themes, the Linux desktop environments are looking very nice.

That's one of the first thing that I correct.

it's ugly and too space consuming, but I found the "Classic" theme equally hideous (looked worse than true 9x/2000). I usually download another theme to replace the defaults.

That screenshot is opensuse 10.2. I HATE that stupid new application menu or what ever they call it. I just switched to ubuntu cause it was giving me crap. That menu system might look nice, but its really impractical.

Also, yah, the green theme is sh!t, but its not so bad when you change it to silver theme.

ugh, i HATE xp themes...unless its the mce xp theme (which is very nice) but i have to reduce the font size to 18 and 8.

i always use classic though.

I don't like the XP theme (Luna I believe?) but I'm not too fond of classic either. Brings back too many (bad!) memories of Windows 95, haha.

I use WindowsBlinds so I don't have to use either.

On all of my Windows XP systems the first thing I do is go back to the classic look. However Aero at a darker setting is very pleasing to me so I'm probably going to use that on the systems that can run it comfortably.

Windows Vista's Aero is very pleasing (Standard is nice as well if your comp can't run Aero).

I always used Royale for XP, the default taskbar IS ugly
