Based upon the polling I'm seeing and the general momentum that seems to be in Kerry's favor, I don't think this election will be close at all when it comes down to the electoral votes. As expected, voter turnout will be immense this election. Young, old, middle-aged, they are all voting in record numbers. The excitement and interest in this election is unparalleled in recent years. So far, Kerry and Bush are pretty much tied in most key battleground states. Now, if voter turnout is big, and young people go out and vote I believe they will be the factor that push's Kerry over the top in nearly every battleground state. I just don't see this election going to Bush at all at this point. Bush needed to sustain his RNC bounce of 6 or 7 pts. if he wanted to win this thing. But this is just my predicition and I'll probably be dead wrong anyways.

I am not calling anything but things are definitely trending towards Kerry. First of all the national polls that were favoring Bush are now even. This suggests Zogby was right that undecideds would start deciding against Bush at the last second. Most of the polls seem to be going from Bush to Kerry. And you are right this election is pumping up turnout. It seems likely that this will help Kerry.

Of course it seems like it's going to be very close nevertheless and the Republicans are doing their best to keep people from voting.

I think Kerry will win but for another reason. The Redskins lost to the Packers yesterday. That being said the polling numbers I have heard actually has young voters about evenly split 50/50 between the two.

In the past democrats usually carry the women and young people. Something they are doing neither of this campaign.

It could really go either way electorally. But I expect the popular vote to be within 3% points.

Also while people are ramping up the registered voters thing through the media. The offical numbers across the US was up about 3%. How many of those 3% will show up is anybodys guess.

http://www.electoral-vote.com/ seems to support your claim. But I'm not sure how reliable they are, they had Bush up by quite a bit only like 2 days ago.

There's a vibe...it was visible in the Brokaw interviews. The Bush campaign is flailing. Even Limbaugh is desperate. He's almost in tears today!

Nah. Just making a point. Either side claiming it looks like a victory for their side is premature at this point, particularly based on polls, stockmarkets, oil prices, or NFL games.

Kerry will win both the electoral and popular votes, and will win by at least 10 electoral votes and 500,000 votes IMO. Bush would need at least a meaningful margin (4-5 points) in the last-minute polls to win, and he hasn't got the horses. This election will not be another 2000 - President Bush's concession speech will be given tomorrow night, not in December.

I think if it is close, Bush will win, if Kerry wins, it is going to be by a landslide.

I've convinced most of my friends and co-workers to vote this time. They're only doing it because they dislike Bush. Some of my friends who're already voting are conservatives and they won't change. Oh well.

Yep, Kerry has a safe enough lead.....no need for all Kerry supporters to go out and vote tomorrow. ;)

Any reasonable person would be in tears at the thought of Kerry as President.

Except the cell phone poll that showed it 55-40 for Kerry. But who needs numbers?

At least if Kerry wins, I won't have to work for him. When Clinton appointed Gore's baby sitter as our CIO, it was hard to take!

The Zogby poll of young voters was something like 55%-35% or something along those lines. I expect huge turnout, and I know that at least in my neck of the woods just about every single young adult I know is going out to vote, Bush or Kerry. I know it's premature to make predictions, but I just feel that Kerry is going to win huge, not by a small margin. I just don't think the pollsters realize how much angst and hatred exists towards Bush amongst young adults.
