I probably should've taken it last year rather than save it for the last year of law school, but I took the MPRE today. Definitely a tricky exam, I really have no idea what my score is going to look like.

Anyone else take it today? What did you think?

I need an 86 to pass in VA, but only a 75 needed for the DC waiver, and it's not even required for the MD bar. Hopefully I passed VA.

i found barbri to be much better. the mpre review material was dead on. my boss says there are only 2 rules in practice:

1. don't steal
2. it's better to give a bj than to get a grievance.

he has been around 40 years and we have about 15 attorneys. the only time he got in any trouble was when a secretary sent out ad letters with black stamping instead of red on the envelopes.

I actually used baroutlines.com. It's geared towards evening students, the info is more cut and dry. I found their practice materials to be dead on to what the actual exam looked like. I also had the PMBR course, and their question structure wasn't like the actual exam.

Hoping I did okay, but my strategy was to see the test once and take it again. If I passed on the first try, all the better. I think I had it down, but it was definitely difficult. Every question except for a few were edge cases, and there were a lot of "correct conclusion, wrong reasoning" answers that sounded the best at first, but you had to pick slightly worse reasoning that wasn't facially incorrect to get it right.

my wife failed it the first time (according to VA anyway, she would have passed in other states), but retook it shortly after taking the VA Bar exam and passed it the second time around.
