Anyone else still like firing up Far Cry and just walking around?

Play a video game to enjoy the scenery? That's incredibly lame... I just go for a hike outside - it looks much better.

If you live in the Caribbean, sure.

Installed it yesterday monring to give it a 2nd run!

I played it when it first came out with most settings on low and was getting around 20fps, now I have everything maxed out and get around 175fps WOW I think the game still looks killer now this is comding from a WoW player who has not played much else in 3 years.

Played for a few hours and dang so much fun, I will finnins it this week and my gues will be I will pick up Crysis.

Just ordered Orange Box and CoD 4 so Im branching out back into my first love the FPS.

I remember back when I first played Far Cry a similar feeling that it was pleasant in a way just to have a virtual environment like that. I just replayed it about a month ago, and the thrill was gone.

It's a pretty good shooter, but as most shooters it gets by on contrivance and convention. That's not to call that a failure. It can be intellectually and viscerally satisfying to deal with those challenges in fresh environments, but once the depth of substance and story are laid bare, there just is not a lot left for me after going for the ride once.

I find it be very cartoonish actually, but yeah, it's installed and I still mess around with it.

Try not using the "Cartoon" render mode.
