Anyone else settling down from a busy semester?

First off, if I havent said it yet this week, going back to college at 30 is a miserable experience.
All of these god damn kids are lazy and spoiled and stupid and entitled and....
Fuck it, thats not the point of this thread.

Anyway, for the past 14 weeks I have been super busy with studying and homework and take-home tests and special projects. Finally got everything done that needed to be done and the professor said if we are happy with our first 3 tests we can opt out of the final, which I am so I did.
Now, I have absolutely nothing to do. There are no more labs, and the lectures are pointless cuz I wont be taking any more tests and he hasnt assigned any more homework and I'm all caught up with the old stuff.
All of a sudden I went from super busy to having nothing at all. Kinda scary when you think about how crazy its been and then everything slows down. Got my mom the present I think she needs (kindle) so no more shopping of any kind for me. My car is finally fixed. My crowns are still being made and the dentist told me they wont be ready until the 29th so theres nothing to worry about there.

Has anyone else in school stopped working hard as well? Or do you still have a few weeks of misery?

Grad school here... it's not over for another 2 weeks. Got a final project to finish (prolly going to get a publication out of it, so pretty neat) & a thesis to write (yuuuuuuuuuuuccccccccckkkkkkkkkkk).

Yep, I've got to give a test and two finals next week. Then I correct, and enjoy my time off until January!

Going back to school at such an age and after so long is very difficult and few have the resolve to do it. You should be congratulated. I agree with your assessment of college-age children these days. I work a mile away from a college with 40,000 or more students and see it every day. Many appreciate nothing because they are given everything.

The only times in college where I was relaxed during finals time was freshman and senior year. I received my worst grades freshman year

Grad school here as well. This first semester hasn't been too busy, but this weekend is fairly busy. I have a short (3-page max) proposal to finish up by Monday, followed by a presentation for it on Wednesday. But after that, just a final and I'll be done 🙂.

Edit:
This is probably my second to last semester of taking courses for credit. Soon, it will only be research...

Mine is in overdrive... Just got up about to have breakfast then its study all day.

I have a 10 hour take home exam on Tuesday. Another exam on Friday, and my last next Tuesday.

Who didn't?

Anyway, I love this time when I can relax somewhat after months of work and studying.

Of course I still have to finish a major project so I'm nowhere near done.

Word, OP.

I defend my preliminary proposal on Wednesday, then this semester is effectively over. Six months to research and write the dissertation then I'm done with school.

Many appreciate nothing because they are given everything.

Get off my lawn, eh pops?

Lucky bastard! Wish I could opt out of my exams, I'd have an A+ average right now on my courses if I did.

First semester of grad school just finished. I'm out of energy and life doing it part-time while working full-time. I had virtually no free time the past few months, yet it's like the entire time just flew by. One exam tomorrow night, then one in about 2 weeks. Then I get 2 weeks off before I start again, except the next semester should have virtually zero hand-in work, just one project.

Meh, I just want to pass...

I've figured out what you need down to a T. You need to have a busty break to celebrate the end of your busy semester.

Nope. Finals studying began today... my two hardest finals are on the 13th and 14th, and then my two easiest back to back on the 20th. Somehow I'm trying to fit a grad school interview in-between all of that. Plus I'm taking on ~10 more hours a week at work.

Fuck the next 3 weeks.

Undergrad here. Quarter ends in two weeks:

Things to do:
- Oral final, writing final, and one more unit quiz (these are hell) in Japanese
- Midterm (take home, woo), two projects, and two homework assignments due
- Try and finish a publication before grad school deadlines (Dec 15th)
- Finish writing personal statements and CV's for 6 graduate school applications
- Study for two other finals

Life is good.

Fuck no. I did my 4 years of undergrad and 4 years of grad. I never want to have a busy semester ever again.

Grad school here. Just finished a presentation on Sat. One paper was due last Mon. And another presentation was given last last Thurs.

got a peer review due tomorrow, paper due Thurs, another due Sat.

So 2 pres/1 paper over. 2 papers + 1 peer review left. I say papers are harder so I'm less than 50% through with the semester projects.

Oh and we can't forget I still have a full 3 finals remaining. Dec 18th countdown is ticking!

I'm taking a class in Feb. The instructor just sent out a pre-course assignment. The assignment required two CDs. I haven't looked at it yet but I'm a bit nervous.

1 Paper. 3 Finals in the next week and a bit. Only really worried about one final though. It's my third year.

I like it when the teacher gives you a rough idea of what all the papers will require. I can usually start gathering info and making an outline right away.

I will be done by lunch time tomorrow. Got an online final at 8am and then one in another class shortly after. Took 2 finals on Friday, luckily my hardest ones as I've been having a hell of a time attempting to study. The motivation is just gone at the moment and I can't seem to care anymore. At least none of them are comprehensive finals! And luckily all my projects/papers were due at the beginning of last week. Just take these last two and be free until Jan.!
