Yeah its been a long time since the wwII shooter market was over saturated. I could go another one.

Rising Storm/Red Orchestra 2 is satiating the urge nicely for me, but it is more simulation than "shooter".

To be honest I can't even get myself to play BF3 and have trouble wanting to play any war shooters that use weapons that are realistic. The last game I played that was war related was BF 2142 and I played that as recently as a week ago and I just would rather play something different in a shooter than a war shooter now. I think the reason is that my son got out of playing all the BF games with me and so it is no fun any longer. I still wish he would play again. :S

I mean.. Im playing World of Tanks which has a fair number of WW2 elements in it. It's just not a traditional FPS. I did always enjoy a good WWII FPS though.

Would like one where you play the losing side. Want to be in the position where you are constantly being pressed and pushed back.

I was just thinking the same thing. The modern shooters dont hold lasting appeal, but I loved the designs of the WW2 games, walking through bombed ruins, French countryside...it was such a nostalgic experience. And I will never tire of any game that has a Normandy beach landing!!

I liked the old CoD and MoH games more compared to the new ones....so yes I'm ready for a new WW2 game.

A modern WW2 FPS would be great, but not if they're going to use all the tired rubbish mechanics from recent FPS games, if it's just a big chest high walls fest with bleed mechanics and hide to recover, with a tiny FOV and mouse acceleration, I'd rather just defenestrate myself.

Bad Company 3 set in WWII would be perfect. Simulations can be fun, but even RO2 is a little too slow paced for my tastes. Something like Day of Defeat, but with modern ADS mechanics, more players, and larger maps is what I want.

I could really get into a modern ww2 online. I always wanted to try that game but the graphics are so dated now that I don't think I could stomach it.

WW2 Online was a lot of fun when it launched. It definitely had trouble getting off the ground, but a modern version similar to Planetside 2 would be interesting.

I'd still rather see a new Day of Defeat though. I want a gritty WWII FPS that isn't a simulation.

Yeah, i loved the WW2 genre...never really burned out on those games like everyone else seemed to. I can still remember the noise those M1 Garand's make.

Are there any WWII FPS games that contain a feature-length singleplayer campaign where you get to play as a German? Any at all? I'm tired of playing as the same generic beefy American soldier dood who shoots up all the nazis. I want to play on the other side now.

What I would like to see is a good single player campaign, WW 2 or modern day setting. Dont really care for space, futuristic stuff.

If the WW2 shooter has no ranks, no unlockables, no kill streak bonuses, no 'realism', and everyone uses the same guns and equipment.... then yes, I'm ready for another WW2 shooter.
