Never played a WW2 game before, it would be new for me. I have touched a bit of BF1942 when it became free on origin but this game came out way before i even touched a keyboard and its incredibly dated.

All for a new one, maybe some sort of Bad Company type game set in WW2 would be sweet.

Was just thinking about this the other day. I miss WW2 games. I wish they would remake the classics MOH and COD.

So is Rising Storm any good? It's on sale for 9.99 on steam right now?

Rising Storm is definitely worth $10. I actually prefer a bit more of an arcade feel like Day of Defeat or Bad Company, but it doesn't lean as far towards a simulation as say, ARMA. The gameplay is pretty solid and fun, and the teamwork is excellent.

So this thread gave me the itch to go back and play Day of Defeat and Red Orchestra 2. Check out some of this gameplay. Pay close attention to the sounds in Day of Defeat. It quite literally sounds about 100x better than any modern first person shooter. And the gunplay is soooo crisp.

Bad company 2 has the best gun sounds in gaming history. Those really don't sound good to me at all.

I always thought RTCW set in the late 1940s or early 1950s Russia or South America would be a good sequel. The Nazis continue on in in one of the South American countries planning and building new super soldats or the Soviet Union taking over and capturing the evil Nazi scientists and moving them to Russia and continuing the evil programs to build super soldiers and whatnot.
