What do you guys think of this series? Don't you think he's just milking it now?? I am only 100 pages into the newest book.. been reading it for like 10 yrs now tho, started when there were only 3 books out..

I found he went a bit slow but I will probabaly pick it up again in the future...I got to book #4. I find the problem with these things is there is no point in reading a series until its all written, because I forget what happens. I was reading the Sword of Truth series up to book #4 I think and then I'm expected to wait a year between publications? No thanks!

I stopped reading at the book before the current one. He is going so slow now that it's ridiculous. END THE DAMN STORY ALREADY. Jordan is the poster child for milking a series.

I've read'em all up to now... finished the last one 3 weeks ago... I thought 7 and 8 were too slow too, but this last one actually picks up the pace a little again... at least IMO it does 😉

Skoorb; You're waiting for the next Sword of Truth too? Damn those slow writers 😱

Yup read 'em and I love them

just gotten 130 pages into Winter's Heart. Just reread the series again after TWO damn yrs of waiting. It's too bad really that he writes so darn slow.

I really liked the series. But after revisiting Dune, you can see where he "borrowed" a bunch.

I read the first 8(?) Initially, I loved it, but when the characters with all this power are constantly acting like they're 4 years old, the story loses something. I don't care to read the rest of the series.

One other thing that bugged me, in the first book the Myrdraal (sp?) are these very powerful and frightening creatures that you don't want to mess with. By the fifth book, any 10 year old with a stick can whoop the things like nobody's business. It just didn't make sense.

I have read the series 3 times just cause I seem to forget what happens by the time a new one comes out, read The Sword of Truth twice, just read Terry Brooks' The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara: The Ilse Witch, and reading all of R.A. Salvatore's Forgotten Realms books...I tried L.E.Modesett Jr for a while too, but the Recluce books were too...similar.

I definitely would say it's better than the last 2 books tho.. so far, not much action tho.. i'm 200 pages into the book, but I've heard it picks up a lot later..
