Anyone else read/reading the book "Bias" about the media's liberal slant?

It's an awesome book by a self-proclaimed liberal, Bernard Goldberg, who was a CBS News correspondent for something like 28 years. I just started the book last night, and it really is a very good read.

It still amazes me that some people out there will try to claim that there isn't a liberal bias in the media. Wasn't there some supposed "neutral" report a year or two ago that purported to show that media coverage was actually right leaning? Does anyone actually believe that?

Anyone else read the book?

hehe, I don't need a book by some pissed off "journalist" telling me how the media is biased one way or the other.

The news media today is quite neutral with a slight leaning towards the conservative side.

If you take into account news related shows on TV and radio.....then it swings way over to the conservative side.

A far better read is "Blinded by the Right" written by a self-proclaimed conservative, who talks about the systematic and planned destruction of the Clinton administration perpetuated by businessmen and conservatives, that continues till this day.

At least the guy who wrote "Blinded by the Right" provides a grand spectacle that astonishes you with it's completeness and attention to detail, instead of the narrow scop of Goldberg's book.

So I am supposed to believe David Brock is truthful now but was not truthful when he was on the other side? I didn't believe all the stuff he wrote for American Spectator and am not inclined to believe him any more now that he has changed sides.

Are you questioning his credentials as a journalist? Do you even know who he is?

It is astounding that you can actually believe that, but go ahead and read the book and see if you hold the same opinion after doing so.

BTW, he's talking about mainstream media outlets like CBS, ABC, NBC, the New York Times, and the Washington Post. He doesn't reference Fox News too much, since they aren't quite as outlandish in their coverage (and since they don't have as long of a history as the others).

Sounds like they're all full of crap. I don't think you can say "the media" leans to the right or the left since "the media" is made up of a huge number of individuals and unrelated organizations. People like to blame and generalize too much.

Andrew, Ferocious believes that because he is far left of Stalin. EVERYTHING is too conservative for him.

Come on, if Fox is anything it's outlandish(Which makes them so enjoyable to watch). Of course they are so obvious that only those who are prediposed into believing Right Wing BS would consider them nuetral. That said, I also believe that CBS, ABC, NBC and CNN is definately slanted too the left.

It is easy to tell that David Brock is now telling the truth. NOBODY is suing him over the contents of the book! He "outs" at least one conservative talking head in this book, and gives details of incredibly damning acts by many other conservatives...things that if someone were to publish about you, I am sure you would sue...

These people know they have been caught red-handed and do not dare make a spectacle out of themselves by trying to weasel out of the truth.

The only slants in the media is towards the corporate advertising sponsors, and providing low-brow infotainment to the lowest common denominator.

Man, you are on crack....you forgot about all of the newspapers in this country, magazines, and television newsrooms across the country. Just because radio has a few conservatives on it doesn't mean the media sides to the right....

um ok... and the masses of rabid conservative talking heads now on radio and tv are all um .. part of the liberal conspiracy. grow a brain😛

I can't wait to get Ann Coulter's book 😀

I know in my area there is a conservative slant - which I prefer .

If you can't tell the difference between the evening news and commentary, I feel sorry for you.
