In this day and age - $26.00 isn't a bad price to pay for 6-ish hours of SP campaign with a huge MP map-pack [21 new maps] to boot.

Ok, found the crappiest bug ever. For some unknown reason, I start entering through walls and can't go any further because I'm falling through some god dam stairs. Amazing! I'm at the level where I have to climb a tower to speak with someone on a radio. I climb the tower and then I fall and die because the stairs are imaginary. WTF?

I had that happen to me last night. Just reloaded my saved game and moved around and it didn't happen.

You're talking about towards the end, after tearing through the airport right?

Yes, exactly there. But I've reloaded my saved game for 5 times or so and it still does it. I managed once to turn on the radio, aliens appear and then I fall through the fu***** ceiling and stairs. I just don't know what to do to get over that part. A patch should probably fix it.

It only happened to me once.. Scared me because all of a sudden I was falling to my death. When I reloaded though, I just made sure I moved towards the switch the I flipped and not to the center of the platform.. I just turned around and walked right down the stairs..

Ok, reloaded my save AGAIN and this time I've managed to go up the stairs, instead of going through them. But the game ended so suddenly. :(
After the last movie I thought I was still going to kill some aliens.

Everyone, try forcing Vsync to "Off" in your Nvidia drivers settings.

I was having choppiness and this seemed to completely fix it. It's running far better now

I just got it so I haven't really played too far into it but it seems to run slightly smoother. In addition (though it may just be the beginning area of the game) I think it looks a touch better, but that is countered by the pop in seeming to be noticeably worse than I remember.

Probably how they "increased" performance.

In DX9 mode with gamer settings (sound to enthusiast), 1440x900, and AA off; I get around 34 avg fps. Which is great!

i just got the game yesterday. i didnt play the the first crysis but i usually dont play games form the beginning when they are a series.

anywys, my rig:
EVGA 750i FTW
Q6600 G0 2.4 ghz
4gb G Skill 1066 DDR2
GTX 260 superclocked
9600GT running Physx
PC Power and cooling 750 watt

i ran the game at:
1600x1200, 4x AA 4x AF, Gamer settings for all.
have the CPU render 6 frames ahead of the GPU

avg about 25 fps and while playing its usually always in the mid 20s and rolls into the 30s. tho on UT3 with same settings its always above 50 fps on almsot every level. and the pphysx levels run in the 30-40 range

im very happy. it runs very well even at the 20fps range and im never thinking of how low the FPS are cause it runs smooth for me.

i love this game. sometimes i just take it all on foot cause driving a Jeep is just not fun mowing down the enemies.

I've played through it at 1680x1050 with all settings on enthusiast except post processing and blur effect on gamer. No AA/AF, DX9

Getting 21-31 FPS... Lots of fun, this one was more fun then the first, though I enjoyed both.

Enthusiast setting at 1680 by 1050 with no AA gives me 20s FPS on my system (see sig).
At one point in the game (ice level with fire) I was getting less than 10 and it was below terrible. I'll change some settings around but I think I'll change down to Gamer level and hopefully get some 30s-40s.

I don't have my nVidia settings set to "Application-Controlled" either, so that may need to change.

There is some sort of memory leak there. When the game starts moving like crap, just save, exit to windows, open the game, then reload your save and the frame rate comes back in. ;)

I think the reason its a bit more fun is because they started giving you weapon goodies right off the bat, as opposed to the first where you had to advance through so much before getting C4, and AT....
