damn pos..with its need-to-be-replaced breaks:|

Damn thing makes me pump the brakes and such all the time.

I realize that it really isn't made for stopping from 50 to 0 in 20ft, but damn, pumping the brakes is annoying as hell:|

I don't have ABS or air bags and my tires have almost no tread.

I sure do feel safe......

I would actually be annoyed if my car came with it. ABS doesn't belong on a sports car.

Maybe you just have crappy tires... I've only had it happen to me once that I needed to back off the brakes a bit while braking hard.

my abs desides to kick in when i really don't need it. Like i'll go over a small bump @ a moderate speed and it will start clicking and the car will slow down. Then it just stops and i continue driving. Now on the other hand when i stomp the brakes the wheels lock up without a second guess.

i drive a 98 lumina, :p

Michelien...damn I forgot..tehy are pretty decent tires I think though....not racing tires or anything, but they have a decent amount of grip.....

It's jsut that my brakes SUCK. They only apply pressure over a small distance.....it is really annoying to have to gauge it....:|

Could it be a lack of pressure or fluid in the MC?

what are "breaks", and why would you need to pump the brakes unless you jammed them on too hard in the first place and locked your tires?

I have no ABS and no airbags. But my car will stop on a dime:)

I hate this. I drive a Corolla and a GTI and the damn brakes on each car are complete opposites..
For the Corolla (94), I have to step on the brakes to the point where my leg is fully extended before I stop.
For the GTI (00), a slight tap on the brakes will make the car rock.

Honestly, the brakes I liked the best were non-assisted discs on my 1976 914. A close second were the non-ABS brakes on my 924S. The ABS brakes on my '89 944 are pretty nice since the ABS has only ever kicked in once, when I was deliberately trying to see if it was actually working.

Personally, I prefer non-ABS. Much better feel when set up properly.
