Anyone else not really participating in Thanksgiving today?

TwiceOver

Lifer
I'm at work and the only thing I am really looking forward to this evening is something out of the freezer and a bottle. Anyone else have nothing spectacular planned for the day?

EDIT: Also figured I'd add another thread for us 5 or so people here to bump around.

I think i'm going to order a pizza from pizza hut thats about it.
My mom not really doing anything, she might go to her brother house and there its just brother and wife.

Very dull thanksgiving, but its the same every year. I rather work actually, used to work in a country club and worked 5 thanksgivings and at least had lots of turkey and stuffing and booze.

my roommate isn't. I invited him to come to my parents' house with me, but he said he'd rather sleep all day 🙁

I'm bringing him a plate of goodies afterward, though, for him to eat while he's at work tonight 😀

this reminds me of last years thanksgiving thread where someone posted their dinner which consisted of

1 hungry man frozen dinner
1 double pack of pop tarts

We usually have a big feast, but my grandfather is in the hospital this year, so we're just having a small Thanksgiving dinner. When he gets better, we'll have the feast.

At work here, just ate some turkey lunch that the company bought for. Nothing much for tonight because I will be back at work tomorrow.

sounds like me.

you know when you got no thanksgiving plans when you are at the gym at 3:30pm and there are only three people working out one of them its you.

And you also know you got no plans when you leave the gym and are looking for food and everything is closed but the liquor store.

In a move to make a statement to my dad, I plan on not going to Thanksgiving dinner at his sister's/bro-in-law's. It's a long story, but basically it's a battle of the wills. The best part is he has no clue yet.

Why don't you make it a battle of the "who is the better man" and go participate in a family function to show your family that you care?

I am working on a school project. Dinner will prolly consist of some turkey burgers and some guiness. My GF will be eating some tempeh and some french fries and sweet potatoes..

Because I don't. Like I said, it's a long story. If you knew the whole story it'd make a lot better sense.

sry for you....i am glad to have 4 days off, the turkey is in the oven and right now we're drinking asti 🙂 cheers 🙂

This is the first Thanksgiving in 28 years I won't be spending with my parents and grandmothers. I've no transportation to the parents' place this year and two funerals claimed the grandparents while 2004 was fresh. 'Tis rather a bummer Thanksgiving this year, but after lingering in bed until the crack of 3:15 this afternoon, I feel pretty OK about it.

At least I'm not working today or tomorrow and if the night turns sour, there's a bottle of Jim Beam Black just over my shoulder that promises tidings of great comfort and joy.
