anyone else not have a holiday weekend this week?

they're dragging me into work at midnight tonight to oversee some maintenance (mostly just to be on site in case something explodes and we lose our entire 3par solution or something), working saturday/sunday as part of my normal schedule, then my boss conned me into working monday 🙁

shoulda said no to Monday, but I need to pay off my credit card so I can start saving money to go to europe in the spring.

yeah i might see if my bro wants to get a case or something with someone this weekend but....pretty much this. broke, homework, and i even agreed to pressure wash my dads house for some extra cash :-/
 
Surprisingly we do get Monday off. Our company often does not give some stats. Some loop hole in the law that lets them do that. For example, we don't get Family day off even though everybody and their dog gets it (hence, the family part).

I'll probably start moving some of my stuff to my new house. In fact if the floors are done I can bring in all the furniture. Still don't have the toilet installed so can't move in yet. 😛

Man I wish I was good at something I liked doing.
 
I actually got lucky and got Saturday and Sunday off today. I was going to work all three days, now it's just Monday.
 
My boss declared Monday an unpaid holiday and told the hourly staff they need to come in. I don't think any salaried employees are going in however.
 
I've worked every major holiday there is at one time or another. Labor Day is the only one I object to working.

It's the working man's holiday, and all working people (not management) should get the day off...with pay 😛

Nowadays, I'm done with school (for now) and I don't work, so the holiday is just another day for me.
 
I'm off sat/sun as part of my normal hours .. and would have also had mon,tues,wed off but exercised seniority to get a shift on monday for overtime pay.

Can you come to my company (which shall remain nameless 😛) and explain how salary works? If I work 90 hours I get paid for 40. If I work 38 hours I get paid for 38. Sometimes we can get straight time approved for more than 40 hours.
