I was thinking about joining a table tennis club. Will I be able to smash someone there? Do girls even pingpong?

tried doing the plenty of fish .com thing and havent' gotten a single reply yet.

I'm not even sure if its real website because of all the premium purchases.

I hate misleading websites.

Plentyoffish is most definitely real. Premium memberships are unnecessary I went out with a chick off of there a week ago. And have obtained several numbers. Just got a new one tonight. It's very important to post Pictures of yourself as they hardly read profiles.

Grab some alcohol, lower your standards some, and start fishing.

No, but I'm introvert so I prefer being alone. In fact I try to force myself to socialize because I could easily stay at home for months (if I did not have to work) and be content alone. That's probably not healthy.

Dude just go party at a bar or a club and start talking to girls. What's up with this whole internet stuff

I tried that at one point. Got a lot of "how dare you talk to me" looks that was terrible for my self esteem :(

My brother! :D

I have a fear of people in that everyone always needs something from me or is asking me for something, so I tend to avoid people all together.

I know there are not many serious posts here, but make friends first. If you are only focused on finding a mate, you will have a much harder time. Join clubs or work at local volunteer charities. Make friends of all different ages. You will meet people through these friends.

Dating sites that have a 'free' route, are usually filled with:
- prostitutes
- transvestites
- transexuals
- scamers
- unemployed people

You may not want a reply,...

I've gone through match.com for a while a long time ago and then used okcupid not quite as long ago. I met / dated a dozen or so womenfolk from those sites. None of them were unemployed, trannies, professionals, or scamers.

They were all fat chicks.

Anyhow, go get yourself a fat chick.

Edit: ohh, and for the record, my fiancee who I've been dating now for like ... the last 4 years happens to be the last one I met on okcupid.

Nope. I prefer being on my own so I never get lonely.

tbh I find that the longer I'm away from people, the easier it is to appreciate solitude. People start talking about clubbing and whatnot and ask me if I do? Lonely depression. The important thing is to think of social interactions as something unattainable, something that you can admire but know you'll never have, like a poor person lurking ATOT admiring all the amazingly successful people and their valuable material possessions, maybe envious but still complacent to fill out the lower rungs of society.

I did the match.com a long time ago. It did work. But things worked out different for me in the end.

BTW OP. I think the online stuff is stupid. It works for some people but doesn't for a lot more.
I suggest joining a singles group on meetup.com where you can go and have fun doing activities with other people your age. I did that and when I became a regular, I met this girl who later became my wife. Life couldn't be better with a little one on the way.
Just for clarity, I did join numerous online sites for dating but sifting through hundreds of people sucked just to find out the one you connected with, you didn't.

I disagree; I can never get enough solitude.

KT

Imagine being a trapper in the late 1700s or early 1800s, or imagine being a hunter/trapper in greenland in the early 1900s ...

you spend months at a time working the woods. Sometimes you may go over a year without seeing another person.

There is such a thing as too much solitude. However I realize that you can never get enough of it due to having a job / internet connection / living modern life :) I feel that way too, especially since whenever I want to wind down and relax in front of a book, the fiancee always comes and bothers me to tell me about her day or find out what kind of dinner I want....

Very true, but the likelihood of me becoming an 18th century trapper is what, 10% at most? So as things are now, it's hard to get enough alone time.
