My GOAL is to get my own place again. I had my own place years ago, but I was not very disciplined, and now I can't afford it. But now that I'm almost debt free, I'll be living solo by this time next year if not sooner. :)

I moved outta home at 17.

I lived with some people for all of two-ish weeks before deciding i wanted my own place.

Aside from a year and a half with the gf a few years back (which was well worth not living alone), i've lived alone for the last 6 years.

Love it.

I've had my own apartment since August. I VERY much prefer it to having roommates. For one, I'm basically renting a house - half of the building is a small deli and general store. The other half is mine. The two sections are thoroughly insulated against noise as a byproduct of the construction, and it's in a residential area. The only problem is that in the summer time, idiot teenagers and college-age morons like to hang out around the store and make noise. Tasing them would be nice, or possibly shooting them with paintballs filled with radioactive waste, but I guess the best option would be pits with sharpened sticks on the bottom. I'd line the side of the building with the skulls as a subtle warning to others.
Well hey, I can dream, can't I? ;)

Living alone though - very nice, very calm, and just plain serene.

I live with my wife. We have been married since 2003.

We are what people refer to as TINKS (Two Incomes No Kids). It works out pretty well. :)

We have a house, looking for a newer one though.

I prefer Dinks, Double income no kids.
I have some friends who were microdinks, double microsoft incomes no kids:)
I did the alone thing a couple of times, not really my style. I grew up in a big and busy family.

Been living alone since I became separated/divorced in 2005. It does get lonely since I'm in a 4 bedroom home. I don't know if I could take having kids though at this point.

I guess I am getting lonely. I would love to find the right woman and get married.

Likewise.

I enjoyed it in my early 20s but now in late 20s it is detestable.

I do live alone and it is great to do what you want when you want. Feels a bit lonely at times, although I just remember that I would rather be a bit lonely/bored every now and then rather than be overburdened with the responsibilities of maintaining a family. Usually just watch a movie or go out and do something and the lonely feeling quickly is forgotten.

I have never lived alone:

1. Parents' house;
2. College dorm;
3. College apartment with two friends;
4. Law school apartment 1 with two friends;
5. Law school apartment 2 with one friend;
6. Law school apartment 3 with two friends;
7. House with now-wife, now-sister-in-law and now-brother-in-law;
8. Homes with wife (and then kids).

When I do get a day or two by myself (my wife sometimes takes the kids to her mom's during the week), it is great for a little while, but it gets lonely very fast.

Maybe I am too much of a people person ;)

It's great if you want to be productive (e.g, if you own your own company, freelancing, bring work home, working out, learning to play the guitar, etc). However, if you're not doing anything, it's not fun.

I've lived alone for about a year now in a 2 br house. I love it. Don't know why I didn't do it sooner, oh wait yes I do I couldn't afford it before lol. I love it, the house itself has some issues (its pretty old so poorly insulated, windows are old and crappy, no central air), but I would gladly take the issues this house has over no shared walls. Besides landlords here are pretty cool.

I love living on my own, and when I get lonely I just watch a movie or go hang out with friends (or have a girl come over :)). Besides living on my own lets me buy whatever the hell I want, and not have to worry about a SO being mad about it, or about roommates trashing it/not wanting it.

Living on your own is awesome IMO.

I've lived alone for the last 7 years and for the most part it's been awesome... I love the peace and quiet and the ability to do whatever I want.
