fried pickles? i presume thats a Dill pickle? and is it battered? or just tossed in a fryer so it comes out almost like a potato chip?......

im english...(yep, major handicap there...lol) and we eat Dill pickles out of the jar with fish'n'chips or salads.....never had one fried, sounds interesting, possibly tasty possibly not...lol

have to look out for them...heh

any chance someone can find a pic and link it please so i can get a better idea...cheers :)

yes, battered and fried. ive had them sliced, or the spears. sliced are crispier, not as pickely. i prefer the spears, but both are most excellent. when i get my own place i am going to invest in a deep fryer

Never had them. I'm not a big fan of pickles though.

Edit: I'd still try it though.

the ones at pluckers in austin were awesome. the batter was very tasty, the pickle was tasty, etc.

the only other ones i've had are sonic. those were gross. their pickles aren't tasty or crunchy to begin with. so eating them was like eating empty fried dough shells.

think i might have to make some, sounds ok to me, i like tempura veg of many varieties so i dont see why a pickle shouldnt taste good.......

why buy a deep fryer? just get a large saucepan, fill it halfway with oil, have a wire sieve handy and fry some in that........ok if your cooking for a lot of people fair enuff, but otherwise all u need is a saucepan...lol (dont let the advertising people convince you that a deep fat fryer is necessary!! its just to make you buy one!!....i know this, i work in advertising!!!.......LOL)

edit: ta for the info btw folks :)
