no popups here, and I'm not a subscriber. I think you've been infected with one of those "comet cursor (or whatever)" type viruses.

I certainly have something fishy going on
ad aware always finds a double- click item to clean out
no known viruses
zonealarm as a firewall behind my barricade
ie5.5 sp1 and I added the security patches...

the named site shows up as the top and bottom banners here in the forums and the browser
history always has the scropophilly site as the last two entries
so I would have to hit back 3 times to get anywhere
hmm......

This just started this morning for me! The banner ad shows up as "cannot be displayed" though. I hit the back button and it changes to "action cancelled" once for the bottom, then the top, then I finally get to go "back". Pretty annoying...

You guys see banner ads? And popups?

I use Popup Ad Filter, never get a popup. I use Norton Internet Security, and it recognizes a banner ad when it tries to load, and blocks it. I just see empty space... :)

Try them, you will never be bothered again!

I use TweakXP's pop-up eliminator. It can also get rid of all banner ads (just replaces them with a small tweakXP logo).
