Hmm.. i was checking my local theatres and its sick how many movies i've seen in the last month..... i've seen

Lotr - Thought it was a very solid movie if you like fantasy. left you hanging.. on purpose.. only 1/3rd
Harry Potter - Probably would have been better if i hadnt treating viewing it as a kids movie... yes i was suprised at the plot twist. a bit long tho
Ali - Kinda weak. Not quite a documentary, not quite a plot driven movie. Find hbo's special when they were kings (i think that was it) way better
Monsters Inc - hmm.. not bad... kinda kidsy drama movie with comedy.. typical
Vanilla Sky - i thought it was a nice movie overall, and liked the style of the ending, but not the exact details of
Oceans 11 - Great movie.. i liked the layout and flow and narration of the movie. Good acting too.
A Beautiful Mind - Another winner. Great flow, russel crow was great, and a true story!
Blackhawk Down - Another true story. Lacking plot.. but on purpose. It had a story to tell, and told it. No twists, no conspiracys. Just plain old action based story. Good flick.
Orange County - kinda weak. jack black was the only saving point in this movie.
The Royal Tenenbaums - good flick.. frickin hilarious.. but missing some key elements in a real movie... most people probably wouldnt enjoy this one 100%

theres not anything else out that i can possibly see thats any good is there? damn... its rare that i tap out the movie theatres... the weirdest part is that i saw those movies with like 10 different sets of friends....

I go to live theaters a lot, but no I hate going to the movies. I'd rather rent it, curl up on the couch in my own home, and watch it, talking as much as I want, pause when I have to take a leak, grabbing whatever food there is in the house...etc.

I wanna see Blackhawk Down tomorrow, and read in another thread that it's a good movie. What's your opinion, bob?

the selection tends to do that ;)
Behind enemy line was pretty good though, it had owen wilson, good actions scenes but, it was a bit too predictable and cliche. But what movie isn't?

I will admit that there are some that arn't cliche and predictable, but they are few and far between

I don't go a lot, but have seen LOTR and Blackhawk Down. Both were very good. Blackhawk Down gave me a new sense of patriotism and a little different point of view regarding war.

edit: i had to sit in the front row during both movies!

See if you can find "Brotherhood of the Wolf" anywhere in your local theaters. I had to drive to into North Dallas to get to the ONLY theater within like 50 miles of my place to see it. Good flick.

hmm... i dunno if i can agree with that completely... altho i do agree that most of the movies i like have become cliche... simply because dumbed down movies arrent so popular movies... all the sudden people like "thinker" movies... which isnt necessarily true for me.. cuz usually in the "thinker" movies i have no problem following along... i think that the general publics view of what movies are tough to follow are kinda silly sometimes.

like.. the matrix, fight club, snatch... memento

the matrix and fight club kinda shined on me as being made to be different.. and memento kinda got clumped in that category too... however i see snatch as just being a movie made to be great ... thats why i kinda like lock stock and two smoking barrels a tiny bit more... simply because most people didnt get the hilarity in it :D

of course i still loved memento and fight club.. the matrix had keanu in it.. how could i love it?

My feelings exactly, plus the beer is nearly free.

yea i hear ya man. i hate when you have to take a leak but you don't want to miss part of the movie... the only reason i go to movie theatres is to see movies earlier.

I got once or twice a year... No way in hell I'm gonna pay $11 to go a see some damed movie! I'll buy a 3 month old movie on dvd for just a little more.

Or.... I'll just go buy the bootleg! :)
