Anyone else here Autistic?

I've been Autistic all my life. I'm able to speak and learn quite well but it makes me a boring person with nothing to say. I also suffer from depression and paranoia.

My wife is the caretaker for an autistic girl. Amazing to see how the brain shortcircuits and causes obsessive/compulsive flareups that manifest as behaviors throughout the house: Certain items must be moved to be touching other items, dishes must be put in exactly the same place in the dishwasher, the cups must be lined up in the cabinets....

I'm very anal retentive, so her and I don't always agree on where stuff needs to go .. lol, it makes for an interesting life.

Interesting. When you think about random things, how does your thought process go? For example, imagine yourself taking a vacation to anywhere in the world you'd like to go... How would you go about deciding? How would you plan it?

you sound like a typical math major. I'm one of them. I can hide some of it really well, the rest I keep under tight control so most people won't know it. I also find other people extremely boring since I don't want to socialize, I want exchange of information and that's not what people do when they socialize.

It is, its just not the information you are looking for.

People do exchange information (and tons of it!) when they socialize. You need to just start using TCP instead of UDP to communicate, and you'll be golden.

I've never seen any kind of head doc...but I'm the strangest person I know.

Take your pick:
-Aspbergers
-Autism
-OCD
-ADD

I'm sure it's one or more of the above. I know that OCD and ADD seem to conflict, but I can't really describe how I seem to be afflicted by both.

We need to know if you have been diagnosed or if you are self diagnosing. You say you have depression and paranoia which is more likely why you think you have Autism.

My 9 year old is Autistic, and she is on the very end of the server end of the spectrum. She is non communicative, in diapers, unable to care for herself in any fashion, unable to feed herself with utensils.
Essentially she is in her own world where nothing else matters. Only a few things can bring her somewhat out of that world and capture her attention. Elmo, Barney, and Teletubbies. She will watch those till the end of time if you let her.
All we can do is make sure she is as happy as she can be. We are already speaking with doctors about the possibility of sterilization and removal of her uterus to prevent menstration.
If you think you have it bad, suck it up and realize that your life is a lot better than others that deal with Autism.

hat off to you for being such patient and caring parent. I can't even imagine what that would be like if my kid were like that.

Dude (or Chick) there are days where she can stress me to the max. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've had to clean poop off of the walls in her room.

Oh, and the only way she will go to bed without being up for 3 days is if we give her melatonin before bed time as she does not produce enough of it to regulate a normal sleep cycle.
