Anyone else having trouble with the Logitech dual optical mouseman in GAMES?

Okay so I just bought it yesterday and it's pretty nice. However, when I try to play counter-strike with it, the left thumb button acts as MOUSE1 when I try to do the ingame configuration. MOUSE1 acts as MOUSE1 like normal but also acts like the thumbbutton. Is there a Windows mouse setting I have to change or something? Oh, and when I click the middle scroll mouse in game button it brings up windows with the scroll option. :\

Anyone having this problem?
:(

Did you install the logitech mouseware software? If not download that from Logitech.com and set the wheel button and thumb button to "middle button"

I got my mouseman dual optical over the weekend to replace my single optical mouseman... it's my new favorite mouse. :D

yeah i installed my mouse software... i'll take a look at what you were talking about. So it's named "middle buttom?" Why would I want them both as middle button? Too bad they weren't labled just as mouse1 mouse2 mouse3 mouse4 :disgust:

When you configure your buttons in logitech's program, make sure the thumb button isn't something like double click, that way you can use it games, if not then it'll just be the same as mouse one, since it is the same button. get it?

Well I made the wheel button "middle button" because well... that's what it is. :p
And I made the thumb button "middle button" because that's what it has to be in games for it to work.
You can make the wheel button whatever you want it to be though... it's just personal preference.

The logitech drivers gave me some tracking problems and general responsiveness issues that I hated. Once the Logitech drivers were removed, so were my headaches.

Same here. I was a huge Logitech fanboy until I tried their drivers for XP. Hell, my favorite mouse was still a Mouseman Wheel from 1998.

Now I want an Intelli-Mouse Explorer.

Bleh forgot to ask if he was using XP. I had to go back to Win2k thanks to the XP/mouseware problems... a lot of them were fixed with the newest mouseware but since 2k works better... I figured if it isn't broke don't fix it.
And since I need my thumb button for walking backwards in games uninstalling mouseware wasn't an option for me.

i'm not sure if it would work, but you can manually configure the keys by going to c:/program files/half-life/cstrike/ (or whereever you installed you cstrike mod) and editing the config.cfg which has all the key bindings.

for my ms intellimouse optical, it goes

mouse1 is left button
mouse2 is right button
mouse3 is scroll button
mouse4 is left thumb button
mouse5 is right side button

The Logitech mice are fine if the drivers aren't installed. I've found the same with the Intellimouse v3.0. If I don't install the tools, I am a happy gamer. If I install the tools, I don't game.
