anyone else having problems w/ seti today?

i keep having problems downloading and uploading. anyone else? is it just my connection or is it the seti server?

It's the SETI Servers Berkeley is having problems this morning.

I recommend getting SETIDRIVER and cache a couple of days worth of WUs, so you can keep crunching when these type of problems happen.

hey i was having problems too... wouldn't connect ands upload... it downloaded one ... but the problem might have been before it downloaded it though? i don't know.. thats all i know is that i had 2 in the cache last time i looked... should be at 9. prolly more...

There has been many reported problems with proxy though such as your workunits not being counted.

The only reported problems were at OK's proxy, and that was because his server crashed.

I think when you first connect to the Queue, the Queue asks SETI for some more WU's.

Since SETI isn't handing them out very fast you won't get any.


If you connect upto one of the queues send a message to the owner and they can move
WU's into your queue for you to down load.

Interesting -
It seems like OK's proxy will send a new Work Unit if you have one ready to transmit to him. If you are just requesting another WU to add to your queue, you wont get one.

Can anyone verify this? thanks.

It's because of Berkeley's bandwidth limit. Try to connect at off-peak hours.
